Rings Champion Going To Pride!

RINGS champion going to PRIDE!
By Eduardo Alonso

Ricardo Arona (standing) vs. JJ Machado at ADCC 2001
After an very impressive performance at the last RINGS tournament, the Abu Dhabi sensation Ricardo Arona [pictured (standing) vs. JJ Machado at ADCC 2001] is now going to take one step further in his career and make his debut in PRIDE on September 24th!
Ricardo Arona, who won both his weight division and the absolute at the Abu Dhabi submission wrestling championship, will be making his debut at the next Pride event against a very tough opponent in Guy Mezger! Mezger, who already fought the likes of Tito Ortiz (twice), Vanderlei Silva and Chuck Liddell, will be for sure the toughest opponent Arona has ever faced in his NHB career, it will be interesting to see how Arona will deal with the less restrictive Pride rules, since he is used to fighting for the RINGS organization.
FCF was told today that Arona is back training with the Brazilian Top Team, and that his fight against Mezger is a done deal.
