RIZIN 23: Kai Asakura Stops Hiromasa Ogikubo to Claim BW Title

Kai Asakura is RIZIN’s new bantamweight champion, as he laid claim to the vacant title at RIZIN 23 today by stopping Hiromasa Ogikubo.

The belt was up for grabs since now former champion, Manel Kape, recently signed with the UFC. Asakura finished Ogikubo in the opening round with a series of knees and soccer kicks.

Asakura’s record now stands at 15-2.  Ogikubo’s fell to 20-5-2.

Here are the results for RIZIN 23, which took place in Yokohama, Japan.
