RIZIN continues to build out its upcoming schedule, as recently the Japanese promotion announced a rematch between Kyoji Horiguchi and Sergio Pettis.

The decorated fighters will square off for the second time at RIZIN 47, which is taking place on June 9th in Tokyo, Japan. The bout will be contested at bantamweight.

Horiguchi (32-5) and Pettis (23-6) battled under the Bellator banner back in December, 2021, when the latter held the promotion’s bantamweight title. Horiguchi was winning the fight, but late in round four, Pettis KO’d the star with a highlight reel, spinning back-fist.

More recently, Pettis lost Bellator’s bantamweight title to Patchy Mix in November, via second round, submission.

Horiguchi, meanwhile, won RIZIN’s inaugural flyweight title in December by submitting Makoto Takahashi in round two.
