RIZIN FF 2: Campbell McLaren Reports Backstage Incident Between Charles Bennett & Wanderlei Silva
By FCF Staff
The rivalry between Charles Bennett and Wanderlei Silva continues to grow, as Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren reports that the fighters had a backstage incident at Rizin FF 2.
Prior to the event, Combate Americas posted a video which captured the two fighters arguing in a hotel lobby. Their issues stem back to 2005, when Bennett fought Silva’s Chute Boxe teammate Cristiano Marcello backstage, and was choked unconscious. Bennett, however, has claimed that after he regained consciousness, he proceeded to knock Silva out.
At Rizin FFF 2 this weekend, Bennett stopped Minoru Kimura in just seven seconds, who Silva was cornering. Bennett then reportedly proceeded to call Silva out after the bout. Following the contest, McLaren also sent out the tweet below.
