Not everyone is a fan of the UFC’s Reebok uniforms, and it certainly doesn’t sound like RIZIN’s CEO, Nobuyuki Sakakibara, is one either.

The former PRIDE boss was recently asked whether he’s considered bringing a similar policy to the Japanese based organization, whereby fighters would not be permitted to wear their own sponsors or clothing. Currently UFC fighters cannot wear any non Reebok apperal, or promote other sponsors, during fight week. Sakakibara told MMA Fighting.com the following:

“The UFC doesn’t respect the individual,” Sakakibara said. “The fighters all look the same in their costumes now. In order to stand out, you need to become unique and get all tatted up like Conor McGregor or speak up, those are the things you can do to stand out.”

RIZIN is reportedly set to co-promote a June 17th event with Fight Nights, which will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia. Fedor Emelianenko is expected to face Fabio Maldonado.
