ROAD FC 055: Nandin-Erdene vs Hong Young-Ki Among Bouts Confirmed

By Press Release

ROAD Fighting Championship will host the next event ROAD FC 055 on 8 September 2019 in Daegu, South Korea. The main event will be Lee Jeong-Young’s first defense of the Featherweight title against challenger Park Hae-Jin.

A banger of a fan favorite match is set between boxer Nandin-Erdene (8-6, Team Fighter) and Taekwondo master Hong Young-Ki (5-5, Team Korea MMA). Mongolian “Oka” just won the MGL championship, so he’s riding high as he inevitably meets fellow lightweight Hong who is seeking redemption. Both fighters almost never go to decision, so fans can expect a truly action-packed fight.

In keeping with ROAD’s dedication to developing women’s MMA, Hong Yun-Ha (3-4, Songtan MMA Multi Gym) will welcome teenage sensation Kim Kyo-Lin (debut, Team Hon) to her first professional match at 53kgs. Hong will have experience and BJJ on her side, but Kim is adamant that her lifelong Taekwondo training and amateur MMA success in Central League will give her the ammunition to win.

The flyweight division will play host to a Korea vs Russia match as Jeong Won-Hee (4-5, Ssen Gym) meets Emil Abbasov (5-12, Team Sabr). Jeong is no stranger to foreign opponents as he’s been fighting in Japan’s unique ZST promotion alongside his career in ROAD. Abbasov is a strong journeyman looking to redeem his lone ROAD FC loss, so expect both fighters to come out swinging for the finish.

The welterweight division continues to heat up with the pairing of Jeong Yun-Jae (4-0-1, Ssabi MMA) and Lee Hyung-Seok (15-13, Team Hon). Jeong is a ROAD FC Central League amateur prospect who has been making his name overseas, especially with his most recent win over Bao Yincang and draw with Gota Yamashita. Lee is a BJJ black belt with an incredible amount of experience in MMA, so this will be an important match up between prospect and warhorse.
