Michael Bisping has said he won’t be retiring, following his loss to Georges St-Pierre, but Robert Whittaker hopes the former champ changes his mind.

In recent months, Bisping has talked about the fact he doesn’t plan to fight much longer, and prior to UFC 217, the British star said it could mark the last time he competes, But, after he was choked out by St-Pierre on Saturday night, Bisping said he doesn’t want to end his career on a loss.

Since then, Whittaker spoke with News.com.au, and the interim middleweight champ had this to say about Bisping’s future:

“He could (keep fighting). But for him and his family’s sake, I hope he doesn’t,” Whittaker said. “Man, you’ve done enough. You know what I mean? You’ve gone to the highest level of the sport and back. And you’ve fought more than everyone. Dude, just enjoy it. But he’s a good fighter, he can do what he wants.”

Whittaker also said in the aforementioned interview that he’s willing to wait for St-Pierre, beyond the February 11th, UFC card in Perth, Australia, if the new middleweight champ isn’t ready to fight by then.
