After weeks of speculation that Miesha Tate would be tapped to fight Ronda Rousey for a third time, the UFC has announced that Holly Holm will in fact face the bantamweight champ next. The bout will headline UFC 195, which will take place on January 2nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Tate worked her way to a unanimous decision win over Jessica Eye in July, and in doing so, recorded her fourth straight win and remained the #1 contender. But, since she’s been defeated by Rousey twice before, the UFC’s decided to go in a different direction.

Holm (9-0) has gone 2-0 since joining the UFC and in her most recent outing, she decisioned Marlon Reneau. The decorated boxer has long been considered a potential opponent for Rousey, but since she’s ranked #9, most didn’t expect this fight to happen so soon.

Rousey (12-0), meanwhile, continues to cruise through her competition. At UFC 190 earlier this month she needed just 34 seconds to take out Bethe Correia.

UFC 195 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
