Rory MacDonald is a longtime teammate of Georges St-Pierre, and understands he’s one of the greatest fighters ever, but it sounds like he has some reservations about the legend fighting at 185 pounds.

St-Pierre will be fighting for the first time since 2013 at UFC 217, when he takes on middleweight champion, Michael Bisping. Recently MacDonald was asked to weigh-in on GSP’s comeback, and the Bellator star had this to say (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“The 185 thing, I probably wouldn’t have advised it, but he is his own guy,” MacDonald said. “He has his own goals. He’s obviously very talented.”

“He is the most dominant champion in welterweight, and one of the most dominant champions ever. It’s hard for me to say what’s right and wrong to a guy like that.”

UFC 217 will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. MacDonald’s next fight will take place on January 20th, when he battles Bellator welterweight champ, Douglas Lima.
