Rousimar Palhares Replacing Injured Luiz Cane Versus Yushin Okami

Palhares

Justin Lawrence Fighting Max Holloway at UFC 150

By FCF Staff

The injury bug continues to plague the UFC, as today the promotion announced that Luiz Cane will no longer fight middleweight Yushin Okami as scheduled at its upcoming August 11th card in Denver.  Rousimar Palhares has agreed to step in.

The nature of Cane’s injury was not disclosed in the UFC announcement.

Palhares (14-4) will be looking to rebound from the stoppage loss he suffered against Alan Belcher at a UFC on FOX card in May, while Okami (26-7) is coming off a TKO defeat to Tim Boetsch in February.

In addition, the UFC has announced that recent TUF competitor Justin Lawrence will fight featherweight Max Holloway at UFC 150.

Lawrence (4-0) is coming off a highlight reel, headkick knockout over John Cofer at the TUF 15 Finale earlier this month, while Holloway (5-1) scored a unanimous decision win over Pat Schilling that same night.

UFC 150 will be hosted by Denver’s Pepsi Center and will feature a rematch between lightweight champion Benson Henderson and former champ Frankie Edgar.
