After failing to immediately release another fight ending submission this past August, Rousimar Palhares has reportedly been suspended for two years by the Nevada Commission.

At WSOF 22 on August 1st, Palhares continued to crank on a Kimura, after Jake Shields tapped out. The latter also accused Palhares of gouging his eyes during the bout. Palhares was stripped of the WSOF’s welterweight title as a result of his action, and appeared in front of the commission today.

According to multiple reports, the 35 year-old has been suspended for two years and fined $40,000 for the incident.

Palhares was also suspended in 2010 for holding onto a heelhook he used to submit Tomasz Drwal. In 2013, he was banned by the UFC for doing the same thing against Mike Pierce.

The veteran fighter, who has claimed he does not intend to hurt his opponents, currently holds a record of 18-6.
