A bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor hasn’t been finalized yet, but if and when it is, Roy Jones Jr. can’t see the latter pulling off the upset.

Recently it was announced that McGregor has come to terms with the UFC, for the long rumored, boxing match, and now the sides are attempting to finish Mayweather’s side of the agreement. Jones Jr. was a guest on the latest “MMA Hour”, and the storied boxer was asked to weigh-in on the proposed fight. Here is some of what he had to say (quote via MMA Fighting):

“I can’t really see Conor McGregor dealing with Floyd like that because of that experience factor and the fact that Floyd has proven that he’s actually one of the best pound-for-pound fighters to ever do it,” Jones Jr. said. “So it’s very difficult to see Conor beating Floyd in a boxing match.”

“Great event,” Jones Jr. said. “Not real sure how competitive the fight will be.”

Mayweather went 49-0 in pro-boxing before he retired, and the decorated fighter is widely considered to be one of the greatest, defensive boxers of all time.
