Ryan Garcia recorded the biggest victory of his boxing career on Saturday night, by handing Devin Haney his first pro-defeat.

Haney reportedly controlled much of the action early on into the super lightweight contest. But, Garcia proceeded to knock Haney down three times in the later frames.

Following the fight, Garcia was awarded a majority decision with scores of 115-109, 114-110, and 112-112.

The 25-year-old Garcia (25-1), who came in several pounds over weight for the bout, was two fights removed from his stoppage loss to Gervonta Davis last year.

Haney, who is also 25, had gone 31-0 prior to facing Garcia and was a considerable favorite to win the fight.

Saturday’s contest took place in Brooklyn, New York.
