Scott Holtzman Fighting John Mahlow For Vacant XFC Lightweight Title

By FCF Staff

In the wake of the well documented departure of former lightweight champ Nick Newell, Xtreme Fighting Championship has announced that Scott Holtzman will fight John Mahlow to determine the promotion’s new champion.

The XFC 24 card will take place on June 14th and will be hosted by the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida. The event will also be broadcast live on AXS TV.

Holtzman (4-0) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jason Hicks in February to entrench a title shot.

Mahlow (13-13), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since last May when he was stopped by Charles Bennett at an Art of Fighting event. Mahlow has been brought in for the fight after Newell recently had a falling out with the promotion, over future opponents and Newell’s desire to eventually secure a UFC contract.

Here is the line-up to date for XFC 24.
