Shinya Aoki Fighting Arnaud Lepont at ONE FC’s October 6th “Rise of Kings”

While the MMA world has been waiting to find out who Shinya Aoki will fight at ONE FC’s upcoming August 31st event, the growing promotion has announced that the DREAM lightweight champ will fight Arnaud Lepont on October 6th.
The “super fight” will be part of ONE FC’s “Rise of Kings” event, which will be hosted by the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
“We are coming back to Singapore to put on one of the greatest fight cards in Asian MMA history and to add icing to the cake, we will crown an incredible three World Champions and have our first Super Fight!,” ONE FC CEO Victor Cui was quoted saying in a press release from the organization. “Singapore will witness Shinya Aoki and Arnaud Lepont in a super fight that showcases two of the toughest lightweight fighters in Asia. With the largest pool of the top MMA talent in Asia, I have decided that the time is perfect to introduce three ONE FC world titles. This card is going to be epic and fans can expect to see some incredible fights come 6 October.”
Aoki (30-6) is coming off a first round, stoppage loss he incurred versus Eddie Alvarez at Bellator 66 in April, which ended the renowned submission artist’s seven fight win streak.
ONE FC recently released the entire line-up for the promotion’s upcoming, August 31st event, which included Aoki competing against an opponent to be determined.
Lepont (9-1) submitted Brian Choi at ONE FC 4 in June to record his sixth straight win.
ONE FC has also announced that Melvin Manhoef and Zorobabel Moreira will compete on the October 6th event.
