Showtime’s nearly forty-year-long run of broadcasting boxing is coming to an end, and in addition, the network will no longer air Bellator MMA events as of 2024.

Following recent speculation that the cable network is getting out of the boxing and MMA business, it’s being reported that Paramount has announced Showtime Sports will cease broadcasting fights as of 2024. The news was announced via an internal email to employees, as reported by YahooSport’s Kevin Iole. Multiple outlets are also reporting the decision.

The move comes at a time when the future of Bellator remains unclear. In recent months, there’s been extensive rumors and speculation that Paramount is trying to sell the MMA promotion.

Bellator 301, which is scheduled for November 11th, is the only event that’s currently scheduled.
