As expected would be the case, Spike TV and Bellator announced today that MMA legend and former UFC champion Randy Couture will be one of the coaches for the upcoming “Fight Master: Bellator MMA” reality show. Joining the retired fighter as additional team coaches will be renowned trainer Greg Jackson, former UFC champion Frank Shamrock and former Bellator champ Joe Warren.

The premiere season will feature 32 welterweight fighters, and the winner of the competition will earn a spot in an upcoming Bellator tournament. Unlike the UFC’s “Ultimate Fighter” program, however, the competitors get to choose which team they want to compete on and who they will fight in elimination bouts.

The program will reportedly be filmed in New Orleans, Louisiana.  “Fight Master”, which will be produced by  “The Amazing Race” creators Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, will begin airing this summer.

The Viacom properties also confirmed that Couture will be featured in additional MMA programming as part of his new deal. One of which is a new program called “MMA Rescue”, which will reportedly showcase Couture trying to assist struggling MMA gyms.
