By FCF Staff
A marathon of past Melvin Guillard fights will air on Spike TV directly opposite the inaugural UFC live event on FX, in which Guillard will headline against Jim Miller in a lightweight contest, next Friday, Jan. 20.
Spike TV’s five-hour UFC Unleashed: Melvin Guillard program will kick off at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and will showcase the following matchups:
Guillard vs. Josh Neer
Guillard vs. Rick Davis
Guillard vs. Shane Roller
Guillard vs. Waylon Lowe
Guillard vs. Rich Clemente
Guillard, a 28-year-old native of New Orleans, La., was a contestant on season two of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV.
Spike TV, which ushered the UFC into millions of homes, beginning in 2005 with the premiere season of The Ultimate Fighter, parted ways with the world’s top MMA fight promotion last year after the two parties could not reach an agreement to renew their programming partnership. Spike owns the UFC’s library rights until the conclusion of 2012 despite UFC’s new multi-year programming deal with FOX.
The first UFC event on FX airs live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The preliminary fight card will air on Fuel TV, beginning at 7 p.m.
