Stephen Thompson Calls Out Leon Edwards “With All Due Respect”
By FCF Staff
Stephen Thompson apparently had never called out someone on Twitter, but recently “Wonderboy” changed that by challenging Leon Edwards.
The 37-year-old Thompson (15-4-1) hasn’t fought since last November, when he outscored Vicent Luque for the decision win. Thompson has gone 2-3 in his last 5 fights.
Recently the vaunted striker and longtime, welterweight contender shared out the callout below, via a tweet.
All due respect @Leon_edwardsmma, which I have a lot of for you, I have been saying I would like to fight you for a while now! It makes sense and would be a great match up.
I think that was my first Twitter call out ever. man that felt weird. Rolling on the floor laughingFace with tears of joy #FirstTimeForEverything

Edwards (18-3), meanwhile, hasn’t competed since last July when he recorded a decision win over Rafael dos Anjos. The 29-year-old is riding an eight-fight winning streak.
