Stephen Thompson has campaigned for a bout with Robbie Lawler in the past, and now the welterweight contender’s doing so again.

Thompson (14-3-1), who is coming off a decision loss to Darren Till in May, recently tweeted out the comments below:

I heard your going to be ready early next year @Ruthless_RL I know a guy who will be ready then too…Let’s give the fans what they want! I’m bringing the heat back, and you know this fight will be FIRE! @ufc

Lawler (28-12), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since December when he lost via decision to Rafael dos Anjos. Both Thompson and Lawler sustained knee injuries in their last bouts.
