Stephen Thompson Proposes Bout With Rafael dos Anjos

Stephen Thompson

By FCF Staff

Stephen Thompson is targeting a return to the Octagon, and the welterweight contender is interested in fighting Rafael dos Anjos.

Thompson is coming off a knockout loss to Anthony Pettis in March, which marked the first time in his career that he had been stopped. The noted striker attended UFC 240 this past weekend, and while discussing his next bout with the media, Thompson (14-4-1) said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I know me and RDA are both coming off a loss, so might be a good time for him to heal up and maybe make that happen at MSG, so that would be cool,” Thompson said.

The UFC is planning to hold a card at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 2nd. Dos Anjos (29-12), meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to Leon Edwards earlier this month.
