Ilia Topuria recently turned heads by proclaiming he would stop Terence Crawford if the two ever met in the boxing ring, and the renowned pugilist has responded.

As Crawford’s highly anticipated fight this Saturday with Canelo Alvarez approaches, Topuria has claimed he would KO the champ in a boxing match. Not surprisingly, Crawford was asked about the bold statement at Wendesday’s media day (quote via MMA Fighting.com).

“That dude’s drunk,” Crawford said. “A lot of MMA guys, they drink a lot, so he must have been on that alcohol that day.”

The back-and-forth comes not long after Crawford argued that Cody Garbrandt is the best boxer in the UFC. The 37-year-old repeated that assertion at media day.

“There’s a few other people, but Cody is just one that always stuck out to me, before we were even friends. I looked at him and was like, ‘Man, this dude can box.’”

Crawford (41-0), who has been the undisputed champion at welterweight and light-welterweight, is widely regarded to be one of tbe best boxers of this generation.
