After failing to make weight for a lightweight title fight on October 31st, Mike Ricci is reportedly heading up to welterweight to face Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante at Titan FC 32.

The bout will take place on December 19th in Lowell, Massachusetts. and the event’s main card will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.

News of the fight was reported by MMA Junkie.com and the promotion has re-tweeted posts regarding the match-up.

Ricci (10-4) was scheduled to fight Yoshiyuki Yoshida for the vacant, lightweight belt at Titan FC 31, but the UFC came in two pounds overweight. Yoshida ultimately decided not to take the fight, and the bout was cancelled altogether.

The Tristar fighter has defeated Jorge Gurgel and George Sotiropoulos since he exited from the UFC last year.

Cavalcante (18-8-1), who will also be moving up from 155, is coming off a stoppage loss to Melvin Guillard at WSOF 11 in July. Prior to the defeat, the Strikeforce vet TKO’d Tyson Griffin at WSOF 4 last August.

Titan FC 32 will also feature Dave Herman taking on Jon Madsen for the vacant heavyweight title, and Desmond Green versus Steven Siler for the vacant featherweight championship.
