TJ Dillashaw Replaces Injured Francisco Rivera Against Hugo Viana at UFC on FOX 7

T.J. Dillashaw

By Timothy J. Gilbert

The UFC has replaced Francisco Rivera with T.J Dillashaw for their UFC on Fox 7 bout against Hugo Viana.

The change, announced by UFC officials on Friday, marks the third UFC on Fox 7 bout to have a fighter swapped out due to injury; interestingly all three fights have been filled in by UFC 158 contenders.

Dillashaw (7-1) has done well recently; winning his last three bouts after getting knocked out by John Dodson at The Ultimate Fighter 14 finale.

He will face Viana (7-0) who is undefeated in his two UFC appearances and is coming off of a first round knockout of Reuben Duran.

This is a telling match for either fighter as a win here would earn the victor some serious recognition.

Earlier this week it was announced that Darren Elkins would face Chad Mendes in place of Clay Guida, and Jordan Mein would step in for Dan Hardy to fight Matt Brown in their UFC on Fox 7 bouts.

All three replacement fighters won their bouts at UFC 158, which was held on March 16.
