Saturday September 25th – Victoriaville, Canada

(MONTREAL, CANADA) – TKO Major League MMA would like to announce the following two changes to their TKO 17 REVENGE fight card. Richard Nancoo was forced to withdraw from his super-lightweight title fight against Mark Hominick. Nancoo sustained a knee injury during his arduous training regimen. Stepping in will be Shane Rice. Rice’s record may be 0-2 in professional MMA; however, his first loss was to the highly touted Ivan Menjivar on last minute notice. His second loss was to a tough Stephane Vigneault who didn’t make weight for the fight.

TKO president Stephane Patry added the following comments: "Shane has done me two favors with the Menjivar and Vigneault fights. He fought Menjivar on 24 hours notice and then stepped in the ring without complaining against an opponent who couldn’t make weight. He’s highly regarded amongst grappling circles; He is the only jiu-jitsu brown belt under Rickson Gracie in Canada. He also is the same style fighter with the same build as Richard Nancoo. I know my champion Mark Hominick has been training hard for Richard so it was important for me to give him a similar fighter. Therefore, I believe this match up works well for many reasons. Hopefully we can do the Nancoo-Hominick II fight another day."

Shane Rice offered some thoughts of his own. "I find it amusing that I’m scheduled to replace the guy who on several occasions pulled out last minute to fight me. How many times do you need to pull out of a fight to get inducted into the MMA Hall of Fame? I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to step up and face Canada’s most dangerous super-lightweight fighter in Mark Hominick."

Jason St-Louis was forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight against Jonathan Goulet. St-Louis was upset to hear doctors inform him of a lung infection and looks forward to have the chance to fight in TKO again, an opportunity he’s been waiting for a very long time. Blake Fredrickson will be replacing him; Fredrickson comes from Gibson Kickboxing and Pankration and has a professional record of 6-1-0. His normal fighting weight is 155lbs but he’s agreed to face Goulet at 170lbs. TKO President Stephane Patry stated that this fight will not affect Blake’s run at the lightweight title currently held by Donald Ouimet.

Fans can Order tickets now through the TKO Ticket office (514-999-7531) and at Le Colisee des Bois-Francs. Tickets are going at a furious pace!
