There has been no shortage of discussion about Tony Ferguson’s fighting future, following his most recent loss. But, the former lightweight contender is reporting he fought Paddy Pimblett while having a significant, knee injury.

Ferguson faced Pimblett at UFC 296, December 16th, and lost the bout via unanimous decision. The defeat was “El Cucuy’s” seventh straight.

More recently, however, Ferguson reported he underwent knee surgery to repair a torn MCL he incurred a few weeks out from UFC 296.

The 39-year-old Ferguson, who won 12 straight fights before his losing skid, now carries a record of 25-10.
