Torn Labrum KOs UFC Flyweight Champ Demetrious Johnson For 12 Weeks

Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson

By Timothy J. Gilbert

The injury that forced Demetrious Johnson to withdraw from his upcoming title defense fight against John Moraga at The Ultimate Fighter 17 finale has been revealed, and the result, a torn labrum, will keep him out for a minimum of 12 weeks.

UFC flyweight champion Johnson is scheduled to have surgery performed on his injured shoulder next Thursday according to AXS TV’s “Inside MMA,” program, essentially putting his fighting career on hold.

The highly active Johnson, who is coming off of a successful title defense against John Dodson, was scheduled for his fifth fight in a little over a year.

Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen are scheduled to replace Johnson and Moraga as The Ultimate Fighter 17 finale headline event.
