Travis Browne-Fabricio Werdum to Headline UFC on FOX 11

Travis Browne

By FCF Staff

The upcoming bout between heavyweight contenders Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum will in fact headline UFC on FOX 11. The event will be hosted by Orlando’s Amway Center on April 19th.

While the bout was expected to be the card’s main event the promotion had stopped short of handing it headline status until Thursday. UFC President Dana White relayed the news to FOX Sports.

Browne (16-1-1) is coming off a brutal, first round KO of Josh Barnett at UFC 168 last month to extend his win streak to three.

Werdum (17-5-1), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since last June when he submitted Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The veteran has also won three straight bouts.

The Browne-Werdum fight will determine who will challenge heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez later this year, when the fighter returns from shoulder surgery.
