After an ankle injury forced Travis Browne to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Ben Rothwell next Saturday, the UFC has announced that the rising heavyweight will fight veteran Antonio Silva, October 5th in Minneapolis.

The bout, which will be hosted by the city’s Target Center, will headline the UFC on FX 5 event. News of the fight was reported by USA Today.

The undefeated Browne (13-0-1) is coming off a first round, submission win via arm-triangle-choke over Chad Griggs in April.

Since arriving in the UFC in 2010, the Hawaiian fighter has also scored stoppage wins over Stefan Struve and James McSweeney.

Silva (16-4) will be looking to rebound from his brutal, one-sided stoppage loss to Cain Velasquez in May, which marked the highly regarded fighter’s UFC debut.

Prior to facing Velasquez, Silva was knocked out by Daniel Cormier in September, after stopping Fedor Emelianenko last February while competing for Strikeforce.

The American Top Team fighter is 3-2 in his last 5 fights.

The main card for the upcoming October 5th event will be broadcast live on FX.
