Two days before veteran lightweights Sam Stout and KJ Noons are set to throw down at the TUF Nations Finale in Quebec City, the UFC has announced their bout will take place at welterweight.

According to an announcement from the promotion, “the fighters approached the UFC to request the change in weight class”, and both the organization and Quebec authorities approved the switch.

No reason for the request was disclosed.

Stout (20-9-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Cody McKenzie, while Noons (12-7) scored a decision win over George Sotiropoulus in his last outing.

The April 16th, TUF Nations Finale will be hosted by Quebec City’s Colisee Pepsi.
