Similar to their first meeting in June, 2009, Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin received “Fight of the Night” and an extra $65,000 each for their main event bout last night in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Franklin emerged from a second round that nearly saw Silva finish him with a flurry of punches, and proceeded to outscore the decorated veteran with strikes for much of the five round bout.

Franklin earned the unanimous decision nod for his performance, just as he did when he faced Silva at UFC 99.

“Submission of the Night” and an extra 65 grand went to Rodrigo Damm for his first round, rear-naked-choke win over Anistavio Medeiros, and “Knockout of the Night” went to Marcos Vinicius for his come-from-behind, third round stoppage of Wagner Campos.

UFC 147 was hosted by Belo Horizonte’s Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond.
