James Krause had a memorable and lucrative Octagon debut at UFC 161, as the lightweight earned “Submission of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” honors for his victory over Sam Stout.

Krause tapped out Stout with a guillotine choke late in round three to win the fierce battle. Both awards paid Krause an extra $50,000 for a total of 100K.

Stout also earned an additional 50 grand for his involvement in the entertaining tilt.

“Knockout of the Night” went to heavyweight Shawn Jordan for his quick stoppage of noted striker Pat Barry, which came as a result of several punishing uppercuts.

The submission win for Krause was the only tap-out victory on the night, and Jordan was the only fighter to win a bout via stoppage. The other nine fights on the card went to decision.

UFC 161 was hosted by the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
