Chris Weidman scored the biggest win of his life at UFC 162, by ending the legendary reign of Anderson Silva, and he also earned “Knockout of the Night” for his efforts.

The All-American wrestler earned the honor for his stunning, second round knockout of Silva, as well as an extra $50,000. Weidman dropped Silva to the mat with a hard left hook, only a second after the veteran had pretended to be wobbled by a previous punch. The 38 year-old star had his hands down by his side when Weidman landed the fight ending blow.

The promotion handed out two “Fight of the Night” awards since no fight ended by submission. Cub Swanson and Dennis Siver picked up an extra 50K for their thrilling bout, which saw Swanson finish his opponent in the third round with punches.

The other FOTN award, and 50 grand each, went to Frankie Edgar and Charles Oliveira. Edgar outscored Oliveira for the unanimous decision win.

UFC 162 was hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
