UFC 162: Dana White Says Over 12,000 Tickets Sold After Poor Sales Reported

Although a report surfaced earlier in the week claiming that ticket sales for this Saturday’s UFC 162 card in Las Vegas were sluggish, UFC President Dana White disclosed figures today refuting the story.

According to a report from MMA Junkie.com, White announced at a UFC 162 media event today that 12,400 tickets have been sold for the card. The resulting gate currently sits at $4.26 million, which already makes it one of the top grossing gates for the host venue, the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The figures White is referring to are preliminary, and the final numbers will be released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission following the July 6th event.

UFC 162 will feature middleweight champion Anderson Silva taking on undefeated challenger Chris Weidman in the main event.
