Not only did Anthony Pettis score the biggest win of his career and the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 164, but the Milwaukee fighter also earned “Submission of the Night” for his verbal tap-out win over Benson Henderson.

Pettis, who scored a UD win over Henderson in 2010, forced Henderson to verbally submit with a nicely executed armbar in the opening round of their main event tilt. The newly crowned champ picked up an extra $50,000 for the award.

“Knockout of the Night” went to featherweight Chad Mendes, who stopped Clay Guida in the third round with a series of punches, and “Fight of the Night” went to welterweights Pascal Krauss and Hyun Gyu Lim for their quick and violent battle. Lim won the bout via first round stoppage. The three fighters also picked up an extra 50K with the awards.

UFC 164 was hosted by Milwaukee’s Bradley Center.
