Not long after the UFC announced that light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones will battle Glover Teixeira on March 15th in Dallas, the promotion has relayed that Hector Lombard will battle welterweight contender Jake Shields at the event.

The UFC 171 bout, which will be hosted by the city’s American Airlines Arena, was initially reported by ESPN.com.

Lombard (33-4-1) is coming off an emphatic victory in his welterweight debut, as the former middleweight quickly took out Nate Marquardt with strikes at UFC 166  in October. Heading into the bout the former Bellator champ was coming off a split decision loss to middleweight Yushin Okami in March.

Shields (29-6-1), meanwhile, scored a split decision win over Demian Maia at UFC FN 29 in October, and is currently ranked #7 in the UFC’s welterweight division. At UFC 161 in June, Shields earned a split decision victory over Tyron Woodley.

No other bouts have been announced yet for UFC 171.
