Johny Hendricks will compete for the UFC’s vacant welterweight title tomorrow night in Dallas as planned, as the top ranked fighter made weight on his second attempt. Hendricks came in at 170 pounds, according to a tweet from the UFC, after coming in at 171.5 earlier today.

If Hendricks had failed to make 170, then he would have been exempt from winning the welterweight title. Robbie Lawler came in at 170 on his first attempt, and therefore,  was immediately eligible to win the belt.

The promotion has also announced that Kelvin Gastelum made weight for his bout with Rick Story on his second try, by coming in at 170. Intially, Gastelum weighed in at 172.5.

Renee Forte, who came in at 157 for his lightweight bout with Frank Trevino, did not make a second attempt and will forfeit 20% of his purse.
