UFC 172: Takanori Gomi Booked to Fight Isaac Vallie-Flagg
By FCF Staff
Another big name has been added to the UFC 172 line-up, as the promotion has announced that former PRIDE champ Takanori Gomi will fight Isaac Vallie-Flagg at the April 26th card.
The latter was originally scheduled to fight Danny Castillo. Despite the change, however, Castillo will remain on the card and a new opponent is being sought.
Gomi (34-9) will be competing for the first time since March, 2013, when he lost a controversial split decision to Diego Sanchez. Prior to the defeat the 35 year-old had scored consecutive wins over Eiji Mitsuoka and Mac Danzig.
Vallie-Flagg (14-4-1) will be looking to rebound from the decision loss he suffered versus Elias Silverio in January, which snapped the Strikeforce vet’s 12 fight undefeated streak.
UFC 172 will be hosted by the Baltimore Arena and will feature light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones taking on Glover Teixeira in the main event.
