Although Alexis Davis will be the consensus underdog heading into her bout with Ronda Rousey at UFC 175, the accomplished grappler doesn’t seem to be phased by the bantamweight champ’s skill set.

Not only is Davis a black in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but the 29 year-old challenger also holds a black belt in the Japanese version of the art. While speaking to UFC.com about how she matches up against Rousey, and her world class Judo game, here is some of what Davis had to say:

“With judo, it’s not too bad because I have some experience in it, so it’s not totally strange to me,” said Davis, who has won three straight fights since joining the UFC. “We studied a bit of judo when I was doing Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, so it’s not at all foreign. I’m familiar with a lot of throws and a lot of the movements. So now it’s just working more on the defensive side of things.”

“I want to fight the best Ronda that there is,” added Davis. “She’s adding that extra element to her game where she’s surpassed being just a judo player or a takedown player. Now she’s adding more stand-up to her game, and I don’t want a one-dimensional Ronda. I want the Ronda that we have now.”

UFC 175 will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will also feature middleweight champ Chris Weidman taking on Lyoto Machida.
