UFC 175: Chris Weidman Outscores Lyoto Machida, Ronda Rousey Cruises Through Alexis Davis

UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman

By FCF Staff

Despite a thrilling effort from Lyoto Machida, Chris Weidman continued to demonstrate why he is one of the sport’s fastest rising stars at UFC 175, by handing the former champ a decision loss.

Weidman outstruck and outwrestled Machida throughout much of the fight, however, the challenger managed to land several telling shots in rounds four and five. At the end of the day, however, it was too little, too late, and Weidman retained the middleweight title with a UD victory.

The co-main-event was much, much, much quicker, as bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey put away Alexis Davis in just 16 seconds. Rousey stunned the challenger with a hard right hand moments in, and after throwing her to the mat, knocked her unconscious with a flurry of punches.

Earlier in the night it was announced that Stefan Struve would not face Matt Mitrione as scheduled, after he had a near feinting spell. Struve, who was set to return to action after being treated for a heart condition, is reportedly doing fine.

Here are the official results for UFC 175, which went down at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
