Having been treated for a rare heart condition, Stefan Struve will return to the Octagon on July 5th and will battle Matt Mitrione. The heavyweight bout will be part of UFC 175, which will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Struve (25-6) will be competing for the first time since March, 2013, when he was stopped by Mark Hunt. Following the bout, it was revealed the Dutch heavyweight had a leaking aortic valve and an enlarged heart, and the fighter was sidelined for precautionary reasons.

In March, however, Struve finally received the go ahead from doctors to fight again. Prior to his loss to Hunt, the 26 year-old fighter had won four straight.

Mitrione (7-3) is coming off a KO win over Shawn Jordan in March, after being choked out by Brendan Schaub last September.

UFC 175 will be headlined by a middleweight bout between champion Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida.
