Conor McGregor kept his hype train moving full speed ahead at UFC 178, by quickly stopping Dustin Poirier , and not surprisingly, the outspoken featherweight had some interesting things to say afterwards.

McGregor, who needed less than two minutes to put away Poirier with a series of punches, relayed the following to FOX Sports 1 post-fight:

“It’s a beautiful feeling when preparation meets opportunity. I could see he didn’t want to be in there. Nobody has ever knocked him out.”

“There is no bad blood. This is business. We’re all chasing the same dream. I’ve never hated the guy. He came in shape. I spoke the truth. We’ll continue on the journey to the next guy.”

The 26 year-old Irishman hopes to land a title shot, following the win, but whether that happens remains to be seen.

“I feed off this,” McGregor noted, while discussing his wish to book big fights. “This is what gives me energy. I put it out there for the world to see.”

With the win, McGregor’s record now stands at 16-2, and Poirier’s sits at 16-4.
