The line-up for UFC 178 continues to fill out, as welterweights Patrick Cote and Stephen Thompson have verbally agreed to fight at the September 27th event.

The card will be take place in Las Vegas, Nevada; however, the venue has yet to be determined.

The bout was reported first by the Canadian Press, and was susequently re-tweeted by the promotion.

Cote (20-8) will be looking to extend a three fight winning streak, as the former middleweight is coming off wins over Alessio Sakara, Bobby Voelker and most recently Kyle Noke. The only man to defeat Cote in his last five fights is Cung Le.

Thompson (9-1) has also won three straight, as the noted striker has scored victories over Nah-Shon Burrell, Chris Clements and Robert Whittaker, since he was decisioned by Matt Brown.

UFC 178 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout between champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
