UFC 181: Corey Anderson Receives New Opponent After Jonathan Wilson Withdraws
By FCF Staff
Corey Anderson has been assigned a third opponent for his upcoming, UFC 181 fight, as the promotion has confirmed that Jonathan Wilson has withdrawn from the December 6th card. The reason for Wilson’s withdrawal was not disclosed.
As a result, Justin Jones has agreed to face to face Anderson on short notice, in what will also mark his promotional debut.
Anderson (4-0), who was originally scheduled to fight Gian Villante at UFC 181, is coming off a stoppage win over Matt Van Buren in July. With the win, Anderson won the TUF 19 competition at light-heavyweight.
Jones (3-0) has gone undefeated in three bouts since he turned pro earlier this year. The UFC newcomer will be moving up from middleweight to face Anderson at 205.
UFC 181 will be headlined by a welterweight fight between champion Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. The card will also feature lightweight champ Anthony Pettis taking on Gilbert Melendez.
