After losing three of four fights and undergoing a highly publicized, split from the Blackzilians camp, Alistair Overeem is coming off a KO win and sees a title run is in his future.

The former Strikeforce and DREAM champ is coming off  a stoppage win over Stefan Struve in December, and at UFC 185 this weekend, Overeem will battle fellow contender Roy Nelson. Recently Overeem spoke to UFC.com about the upcoming fight, and after praising his new team, Jackson-Wink MMA, the Dutch heavyweight stated:

“I still have a couple more years to go and I definitely see the UFC title in range, but that means I’ve got to stay focused and I’ve got to stay active. That UFC title is the biggest accomplishment and will be the crown of my career, so I’ve set my goals and sacrifice comes with that. I’m here, I’m ready to go and after this fight, I’ll hit the gym again and request to fight again soon.”

The 34 year-old Overeem (38-14), who arrived in the UFC in 2011, has gone 3-3 in the Octagon to date.

Nelson (20-10), meanwhile, is looking to get back on track after he was KO’d by Mark Hunt in September. The 38 year-old is 2-3 in his last 5 bouts.

UFC 185 will go down at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
