Daniel Cormier secured the light-heavyweight title tonight at UFC 187, and he also earned an extra $50,000 while doing so.

Cormier battled through the punishing punches and kicks of Anthony Johnson in the main event, and turned to his top game to secure a third round, submission win. Cormier was awarded a “Performance of the Night” for the thrilling victory.

Chris Weidman earned the other “POTN”, as the middleweight champ took some big punches from Vitor Belfort, but finished the contender off with ground-and-pound strikes.

“Fight of the Night” went to heavyweights Travis Browne and Andrei Arlovski for their thrilling slugfest, which saw the latter score a first round, stoppage win.

UFC 187 was hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
