Stefan Struve will fight Jake Rosholt at UFC 193 this weekend, and he will do so, having defeated one of the greatest heavyweights in his last outing.

In August, Struve took on Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and handed the former UFC interim champ and PRIDE champ a unanimous decision loss. The 7’0 foot tall fighter out gunned Nogueira throughout the bout, but the 39 year-old continued to battle and made it to the final bell.

Recently Struve spoke to UFC.com about his upcoming FIGHT, and while reflecting on his win over “Big Nog”, the 27 year-old say this:

“I hit him with everything I had that night,” Struve said. “I hit him with jabs, straight rights, crosses, kicks – you name it, I hit him with it, and he just didn’t want to go down. He kept going. He was still standing after three rounds, and I’ve got a lot of respect for him. I was just happy to get back on track and I was a little disappointed that I didn’t finish the fight, but looking back, he retired afterward and I’m happy that he got to go out the way he did. He put on a good performance, in my opinion, and that man is as tough as they come. I threw everything I had at him, and he took it all.”

The win ended Struve’s (26-7) two fight losing streak, as he was coming off consecutive stoppage defeats to Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt.

Rosholt (13-2), meanwhile, decision Timothy Johnson in August, after stopping Josh Copeland in March.

UFC 193 will be hosted by the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. In the main event, bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey will take on Holly Holm.
