UFC 194: Luke Rockhold Fires Away at Chris Weidman, Says Champ is “Slow, Slow And He’s Slow”

By FCF Staff

Since their UFC 194 bout was confirmed, Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold have fired verbal shots at each other, and now the latter has done so again.

Weidman and Rockhold are set to fight in the co-headliner of UFC 194, which will take place on December 12th in Las Vegas. Although both middleweights are widely regarded to be two of the most complete fighters in the sport, both have argued that they’re going to dominate the upcoming fight.

Recently, Rockhold appeared on Submission Radio, and here is some of what he had to say about the middleweight champ (quote via Mixed Martial Arts.com):

“I think he’s a very tough guy. I think he’s gotten into this division at the right time. But it’s a new age and there’s a new crop of guys coming up that are on a different level than anyone he’s ever faced, and I’m leading the way. He’s in trouble.”

“People wanna say this is a close fight. I don’t see it as [a close fight] though. I think Chris is gonna be tough for a round, maybe two. I’m gonna run away with this fight and I’m gonna take the belt home. Another belt coming back to AKA. Chris is just too slow, he’s too slow, he’s too slow. That’s all I gotta say. He’s slow, slow, and he’s slow.”

Rockhold (14-2) is coming off a submission win over Lyoto Machida in April. Weidman (13-0), meanwhile, stopped Vitor Belfort this past May in his last outing.
