UFC 197: Rafael dos Anjos Tells Conor McGregor to Bring on The Insults, Says He’s Better When It’s “Personal”

If Conor McGregor is hoping to get in the head of Rafael dos Anjos and throw him off his game with insults, well, the lightweight champ claims it will have the opposite effect.

Before McGregor was booked to fight dos Anjos, the outspoken fighter argued that he wouldn’t have much difficulties defeating the champion. Now that they’ve been scheduled to fight at UFC 197 on March 5th, McGregor has stepped up his verbal attacks.

Recently dos Anjos attended a media event in his native Brazil to promote his bout with McGregor. While discussing the trash talk the featherweight champ has brought to the fight, RDA said this (quote via UFC.com):

“I have this strong trait: When it becomes personal, it’s even better for me. I fight better that way,” dos Anjos said. “I’m sure I’ll be cold-blooded and dominate the action, put on the pressure and mix takedowns, punches and kicks to confuse his head.”

RDA is coming off a quick, stoppage win over Donald Cerrone in December. One week earlier, McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds to take the 145 belt.

UFC 197 will go down in Las Vegas, Nevada.
