Dan Henderson has been known to dismiss retirement talk as bouts near, but the 45 year-old legend has admitted his storied career could end, after his next fight.

The decorated fighter is preparing to face Hector Lombard on June 4th at UFC 199, which will also be the final bout of his current deal. Recently Henderson appeared on MMA Junkie.com Radio, and while discussing his future, “Hendo” stated the following (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I’m definitely capable of keeping on and still competing at a high level, but I’m almost ready to retire, and depending on how things play out after this fight with negotiations, yeah, it could be my last. Or maybe I’ll still fight. I don’t know yet. I’m at that point where I’m about ready, but definitely, I know in my heart I’m still capable of doing it and if I do decide to keep going on I’ll make sure I do it well.”

Henderson (31-14) will be fighting for the first time since November, when he was KO’d by Vitor Belfort. Lombard (34-5-1), meanwhile, is coming off a stoppage loss to Neil Magny in March.

UFC 199 will be hosted by the Forum in Inglewood, California.
